The world's first Doggie Rock Video, inspired by the awesome letters and
pictures you've sent us! And as the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina approaches, we are launching this now to call attention to the awesome work
our friends at Animal Rescue New Orleans - ARNO - they are still reuniting
pets and humans! They rock our world!
Calling all Road Trippers! We're headed to New Orleans!
The 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is August 29th. The heroism of the doggies and humans there will blow your mind. So for the next six weeks, our proceeds go to ARNO -- Animal Rescue of New Orleans. This group is a bunch of average humans who came together and dedicate EVERY day to putting doggy and human families back together. Cats too. And you know what? There are humans in New Orleans -- average, middle class families -- who are living in their cars just so they can keep their pet family members with them. New Orleans still hasn't been rebuilt, so there are barely any apartments available that let humans bring their doggies.
We love ARNO. We love the humans and doggies and other critters in New Orleans who get up every day determined to spread life and love. Road Trippers these guys rock! So rock with us as we celebrate ARNO! Click here to find out more about ARNO and whats happening in New Orleans -- more>>

LEAD STORY, cont...
Ladies Home Journal has published our story in the June 2008 issue.
That's worth skipping a nap for.
Now you can help too! Join us on our exciting adventures by pre-ordering your
2009 Lulu and Lolly Road Trip calendar (shipping in August), or one of the
many unique gift items we found when we were on the road. A good portion of the profits go to animal rescue organizations in the 50 states!
For
the record, we borrowed our Humans' credit cards to take the road trip. So
the Humans think we should be giving the profits to them. Something about "maxing out" and "pending bankruptcy." Whatever.
Our humans need to get a life. We're working to raise profits for rescue groups
and the Humans can deal with it.
By the way, the Lulu and Lolly Road Trip Calendar is more than awesome pictures.
It includes the postcards we sent home from our trip too. Like when we got
arrested, or that time the coyotes borrowed Lolly out west.
And if you know of a non-profit helping dogs or cats or, well, animals ...
that needs our help, please have them contact us about how our eggsellent 2009
Road Trip calendar can help them too!

Heres the down low on New Orleans. Some people don't want to talk about it because they're scared that it will be bad for the city image. But the truth is the truth. Remember how the officials who evacuated the city made the humans leave their doggies behind? Well three years later there are STILL doggies with collars and tags looking for their humans. There are disease and population explosion problems. There are scared and confused critters lost, wandering the streets, wondering what to do. Math is not our strong suit, but we know that the numbers are grim and big. Meanwhile, most national funding pulled out over two years ago.
But you know what rocks? In the midst of this, humans are doing some amazing things. Like the folks an ARNO, which was founded by a bunch of average human types accountants, homemakers, housekeepers, ad executives, whatever. They werent rescue experts, but they loved their pets and city and said no, were not going to stand for this. This group became ARNO Animal Rescue New Orleans. They put their heads, hearts, and paws together and today, ARNO has maps, research and food and water control stations that help them get the scared doggies and cats to trust them. ARNO takes these critters into their shelter, treats them for disease, and works to reunite them with humans. Just three weeks ago they reunited a cat and her kittens found in an abandoned building, with her humans who had been living in Houston. That deserves a million paws up which we are pretty confident is even more than Two Paws Up!
Here are some other awesome facts about ARNO:
EVERY animal in the ARNO shelter is happy, healthy, and adoptable
NO animal is sent to the Big Park in the Sky before her time
ARNO treats all the health issues of the pets that come in
ARNO doesnt turn away anyone
ARNO is teaching pet health to humans who didnt know much about that before
You know what else rocks? That in the face of all that they battle every day, ARNO Executive Director, human Charlotte Bass-Lilly says: We are winning.
Yep, thats right. Thats ARNOs attitude. What happened to this city and its inhabitants was devastating, Charlotte said. And there are on-going results that most people dont realize exist. Us ARNO folks came together and said OK, were not animal experts, but we we cant let families be ripped apart any more than they already have been. So we said fine, well figure it out. We built our shelter from scratch. We developed an inoculation protocol. We created a map of the city and a system that tracks where animals are clustering.
We refuse no one in our shelter, and all pets who come here wind up healthy, happy, and adoptable. ALL of them. And lives are changing. Human lives. Doggy lives. Cat lives.
We asked Charlotte what makes her and her human pals keep going. This was over the phone, and when we asked, Charlotte was quiet for a minute. Then we could hear her smile. Sure, were digging deep, she said. But you know who are examples are? The dogs and cats were working with, and the people throughout the city that every day say Im going to fight to protect my pet family no matter what. These humans, these dogs and pets they get up ready to live anew, every day. Were taking our cues from them.
One hundred katrillion zillion paws up for ARNO and the great humans and doggies and other pets in New Orleans. You rock our world and we are going to strive every day to be like you.

LOOK WHO WE HELPED EARLIER THIS SUMMER!!
Do you believe in miracles? You will after you meet Michael, an outstanding doggy who couldn't walk, let alone run just four weeks ago. But, thanks to the humans at Northcentral Maltese Rescue, Michael's bounding around like a doggy should be! So, for the next month, proceeds go to Northcentral Maltese
Rescue in Racine, Wisconsin. What an egg-sellent chance to make a difference!
Not being able to walk was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to Michael's rough times. His story includes too many streets and too many states. But the important part is that now this doggy who was born to give the world a lotta love is everything he was supposed to be.
Mary Palmer, the folks at Bell City Vet Hospital, and Northcentral Maltese Rescue put a lot into saving doggies like Michael every day, and we are supporting their efforts.
So for the next month June 15th to July 15th, 50% of all proceeds you make go to Northcentral Rescue efforts.
We are so honored that we can help them, and we know that you are too! Road Trippers, this is a great trip we're on together!
Thanks for all you do,
